*Pay Range: $75,000 - $90,000 USD annually


POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) supports the HR function by delivering practical, hands-on assistance to employees and managers across a range of day-to-day HR activities.  Working under the guidance of senior HR leadership, this role focuses on administering routine HR processes, ensuring consistent application of policies, and supporting compliance with company procedures and employment laws.

In addition, the HRBP will provide dedicated support to the Post New York business unit, partnering closely with its management team, including its President.  Operating at the intersection of strategy and execution, the HRBP supports organizational effectiveness by fostering effective manager-employee interactions, championing business-aligned initiatives, and serving as a liaison between business leaders and our HR Center of Excellence to ensure seamless delivery of HR services and programs.

This role helps identify and address common employee concerns, ensures accurate handling of HR transactions, and appropriately escalates complex or sensitive matters for further review.

The HRBP provides direct support to employees and managers based in our New York and California studios, as well as remote employees in other states. This position reports to the Director, Human Resources, and works collaboratively with senior HR leaders and cross-functional HR teams to ensure alignment with broader organizational priorities.


MAIN DUTIES:

The HRBP will function as the first point of contact for employee and manager inquiries related to HR policies, procedures, and general employee matters within assigned business units. They will ensure compliance with company policies and employment law across US, including, but not limited, to NY, CA, GA. states. They will coordinate the HR process with business managers and appropriate HR team(s) on all aspects of the employee life cycle, including recruitment support, onboarding, job changes, leaves, employee relations matters, terminations, and offboarding. They will assist in job evaluations, salary recommendations, and headcount tracking in partnership with Finance and Compensation. Other duties include:
  • Advise and project manage HR activities related to their assigned business unit’s team restructures, reorganizations, and acquisitions with appropriate HR team leads.
  • Advise managers on performance management processes, including, but not limited to, documentation, communication, and follow-up on performance issues.
  • Liaise with HR Centers of Excellence (Talent Acquisition, Benefits, DEI/L&D, and ER) to ensure timely and accurate service delivery.
  • Support contract reviews and classification for independent contractors in collaboration with Legal.
  • Identify and report trends/patterns regarding employee issues to the appropriate HR team and collaborate in addressing them appropriately and timely.
  • Manage the performance review cycle within the assigned business unit; review submissions for completeness and provide basic coaching on documentation quality.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in HR systems.
  • Provide back-up HR support to other Business Partners or departments as needed.
  • Assist with documentation, audits, and reporting related to HR metrics, compliance, or organizational changes.
  • Other HR projects as assigned.


WHAT YOU BRING: 

The ideal candidate will bring prior experience in an HR Business Partner, HR Generalist, or HR Operations role in a multi-state or global company. They will bring a strong working knowledge of employment laws, particularly in NY, CA, and GA. They will be highly organized and detail-oriented; able to manage multiple tasks and follow through to completion. They will bring clear and professional communication skills, both verbal and written. The ideal candidate will also bring the following:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; experience with HRIS systems (e.g., D365) a plus.
  • Strong sense of ethics, discretion, and the ability to handle sensitive information.
  • Dependable, proactive, and service-focused; comfortable in a hands-on role.
  • Able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Prior work experience in the media or entertainment industry, specifically in post-production.
  • Experience with project management.
  • Experience in working on process improvement projects in an HR setting.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
