POSITION SUMMARY:
This position provides media and production support across a multi-site post-production environment, ensuring that artists, production teams, editorial workflows, and client-facing operations have reliable access to the systems, infrastructure, and services required to deliver work on schedule. The role combines systems administration, infrastructure engineering, and hands-on operational troubleshooting to support production-critical hardware, software, storage, networking, and media and entertainment technologies. This position is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and improving studio infrastructure; integrating and supporting third-party systems and products; and helping drive workflow reliability, performance, uptime, and technical continuity across the production environment.
MAIN DUTIES:
The Systems Engineer will leverage internal tools, monitoring platforms, and operational utilities to maintain visibility into studio infrastructure availability, utilization, performance, and service health. They will maintain high digital security standards required in a post-production environment and develop and maintain clear operational procedures for routine system administration, support escalation, and production-impacting workflows. WHAT YOU BRING:
The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of Linux server and desktop environments, as well as solid knowledge of MacOS and Windows platforms. They will bring programming or scripting experience with at least one of Python, Bash, C/C++, Java or similar, and have experience building and operating high availability and high scalability computing systems. They will also be experienced working in Film, TV, and/or the post-production industry with knowledge of Resolve, Avid and Adobe products. Additional desired skills include:

They will maintain high digital security standards required in a post-production environment and develop and maintain clear operational procedures for routine system administration, support escalation, and production-impacting workflows. They will also be responsible for the following:
- Administer and support servers, workstations, network services, storage platforms, virtual infrastructure, databases, user accounts, licensing services, email technologies, firewalls, internet connectivity, backup systems, and other production-critical technology services. Provide timely user support and troubleshooting for artists, production operators, editorial teams, and business stakeholders.
- Analyze, tune, and improve systems for performance, throughput, resource utilization, high availability, scalability, and reliable operation in support of production schedules and media workflows.
- Evaluate system components, software platforms, networking infrastructure, hardware peripherals, and media technology solutions for reliability, performance, scalability, security, production readiness, and long-term operational fit.
- Calibrate, maintain, and support monitors, projectors, and review-room display systems both on-site and off-site to meet studio, client, and color-critical viewing standards.
- Install, support, troubleshoot, and help design video and audio systems used in post-production, including signal routing, signal conversion, review-room technology, machine-room infrastructure, and related media support environments.
- Perform equipment installation, rack integration, cabling, patching, labeling, testing, and physical infrastructure support as needed to maintain reliable production and engineering environments.
- Evaluate business requirements and make recommendations on systems design and hardware purchases to fulfill business needs.
- Installation, configuration, administration, and operational support of production systems
- Core network service administration, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, NFS, SMB, and related identity or access services
- Hardware integration, deployment, lifecycle support, and troubleshooting for workstations, servers, storage, and media systems
- Software installation, configuration, patching, licensing, and support for production and engineering applications
- Configuration management, automation, and repeatable deployment workflows using tools such as Ansible
- Network support, including switch administration, VLAN management, connectivity troubleshooting, and production network reliability
- Incident response, escalation, remediation, documentation, and follow-through for production-impacting issues
- Security support, access control, compliance awareness, and protection of production and client-facing environments
- Calibration and technical support of monitors, projectors, and other color-critical display systems
- Video and audio signal path support and design, including SDI, ST 2110, routing, signal conversion, and related media infrastructure
- Linux, open-source package, and workstation or server environment setup, extension, and support
WHAT YOU BRING:

- Experience with Proxmox PvE
- Knowledge of SQL databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB
- Ability and desire to learn new technologies as required
- Ability to solve problems unsupervised and recommend proactive technical solutions
- Positive can-do attitude combined with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Experience related to disaster recovery, business continuity, backup systems, tape libraries, SAN, and NAS knowledge
- Knowledge of DaVinci Resolve, Baselight and Flame software
- Knowledge of Calman is a plus
- MacOS deployment strategies is a plus
