Position Summary: Reporting to the Director of Dailies, this role requires a strong technical understanding of the Dailies process both in facility and on location. You will be expected to supervise and lead multiple technicians working overnight and problem solve delivery issues communicating as a conduit between the operational side of the team and the producers and clients. The position requires a high degree of technical skill and time management. In addition, the role will also deal directly with clients in challenging situations; accordingly, a professional demeanor and diplomacy are also important.
Main Duties:
Operate Dailies Processing Tools and related technical facilities to ensure efficient and accurate completion of assigned tasks.
Supervision of SYNAPSE deployment and project archiving.
Create and maintain the Dailies Technicians schedule and shift patterns.
Take a leading role in training new Dailies operators and mentoring them on their career progression.
Work with DI Colorists, Image Scientists, and creatives to maintain and a projects aesthetic.
Lead the team, ensuring the technical accuracy and quality of work produced.
Responsible for delivery activities including, receive and write client media, manage space on local SAN, manage LTO archives, ingest picture via mags, cards, drives, ingest Audio via CF Card, DVD-RAM and drives, checksum MD5s, Aspera / FTP, uploads to PIX, Sample Digital, copy media to iPad, rugged shuttle drives, etc., safe data management best practices at all times.
Candidates will be required to sync audio to image, via time code, and slide as necessary where no TC match, check levels via audio meter, and QC image and audio and check against camera, sound, and script supervisor reports
Technician will perform thorough quality control checks noting artifacts, missing frames, missing picture, failed checksums, spot soft focus, exposure problems, check the vector scope and waveform monitor to identify exposure concerns and check against notes from supplied reports
Content Creation and QC (Avid, FCP, H.264, DVD, Blu Ray, HDSR, and other deliverables)
Ensure accurate reporting, communicating concerns with above processes to Dailies Producer, log TRTs of incoming footages, submit completion reports, log hours worked and upload and email ALEs, Flex Files, Avid Bins, and NDRs
Lead projects via the use of task management software such as TEAMS, ASANA, Click-Up and SLACK to communicate effectively.
Calibrate monitors for internal use and for clients upon request.
Assist with all Dailies functions as needed.
Exposure and cross utilization as a Colorist assist.
Cross-training on multiple color platforms. If interest and aptitude align, cross utilization as a Dailies Colorist, which could transition into a full time Dailies Colorist role.

Technical proficiency in software such as OSD, Resolve, MTI, Redcine-X, Avid, Final Cut Pro, and Codex VFS.
Hands-on experience with various media formats and hardware: USB, Firewire, eSATA, Codex, S.two, Sony F65 mags, Alexa SxS, RED cards, and more.
Knowledgeable in archive procedures (LTO, TAR, BRU) and familiar with PIX and Sample Digital platforms.
Solid understanding of imaging concepts and troubleshooting techniques.
Collaborative and supportive team member with strong interpersonal skills.
Skilled in prioritizing tasks under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and all tools used in dailies.
Experience with Colorfront OSD, EXD, and DaVinci Resolve.
Hours of Work: The schedule will change based on department and client needs. The candidate must be willing to travel, work in other locations for months at a time, and work nights and day shifts.
