Overview: The Colour Assistant, Lead, is responsible for filling a variety of roles for colourists, assistants and the Long Form team in general. The position actively provides support and solutions for the wider team from ingest to delivery.
They work with the Operations Manager and Head of Production Operations to ensure that Colour Assists are able to support the standard Global Co3 workflow and provide the documentation required to support a concise training plan.
Responsibilities:
Act as the primary technical resource for Colour Assists, supporting complex tasks beyond their immediate expertise
Serve as an escalation point for Colourists when required
Troubleshoot technical and project-related issues that arise during client sessions
Triage and prioritize daily requests based on operator and resource availability
Provide guidance on project-related issues, allowing assists to resolve problems without needing to escalate them to the Operations Manager / Head of Productions Ops, were possible
Support scheduling queries, offer second opinions when needed, and help address project challenges
Schedule and manage operators and resources
Understand, communicate, and reinforce company workflows to ensure consistency across the London team and alignment with global teams
Participate actively in rotating production and department meetings.
Partner with the Operations Manager / Head of Productions Ops and Colourists as appropriate to review workflows and identify opportunities for operational improvements.
Maintain clear and collaborative communications with the Production, Operations and Engineering teams
Contribute to the ongoing development and documentation of the colour pipeline, tools, and operational efficiencies
Support the training and onboarding of new Colour Assists, while providing ongoing mentorship to promote skill development and workflow consistency

Skills:
Highly versatile, with the ability to work confidently across a full range of platforms, specifically Baselight and DaVinci Resolve
Ability to solve technical or artistic problems
Good problem-solving abilities and adaptable to in change in a fast-paced working environment.
Strong organization and communication skills with good attention to detail
Ability to prioritize conflicting tasks and work on multiple projects

Hours of Work:
Standard 40-hour work week, Monday – Friday. However, due to the nature of the role, some weekends, late evenings and public holiday working maybe required, depending on project demands
