Position: Creative Editor
Location: Santa Monica, CA (On-site)
*Pay Range: $75.00 - $115.00 USD Hourly
 

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Company 3 currently has an opening for a Creative Editor to join its team! We’re seeking a skilled and creative Short Form Editor to craft a compelling 45-second video segment with strong storytelling and pacing. The editor will manage the creative process from concept through final execution, editing content and integrating client-supplied motion graphics to ensure the final product is engaging, on-brand, and platform-ready. Once the edit is locked, the editor will deliver to Co3 Special Projects (EDL, reference QT), after which the team will handle transcodes, cleanup, and final comp work.


 

MAIN DUTIES: 

The Creative Editor will e
dit short-form content (45 seconds) using Adobe Premiere Pro and or After Effects. AE platform is more preferred. They will incorporate supplied motion graphics seamlessly. They will collaborate with clients, creative directors, and internal teams to align on vision. Other duties include:

  • Problem-solve to enhance narrative flow and fix content weaknesses.
  • Deliver high-quality edits under tight deadlines.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with creatives across teams.
  • Collaborate with clients in person in supervised sessions and unsupervised session.
  • Must thrive in fast-paced environments and bring a strong creative eye to every project.


WHAT YOU BRING:

The ideal candidate will be proficient with Adobe Premiere, Aftereffects, etc. They will bring experience as a creative editor in a professional post production environment. They will bring a strong understanding of file formats, codecs, frame rates, color space, timecode/VFX frame numbering. The ideal candidate will also bring the following:
  • Strong communication skills; this position interfaces with the larger editorial team as well as with project production and supervisor/leads
  • Strong Collaborative skills
  • Experience with online/conform work and concepts, including working with EDLs, XMLs, AAFs, etc
  • Some comfort/experience with VFX terminology and concepts 
  • Experience with Adobe After Effects a plus
  • Experience at a VFX studio a plus
  • Experience with delivering projects with large quantities of deliverables a big plus
